What does this graph show?

Comparing pay levels across London boroughs for all employees, full and part-time, reveals a number of interesting findings.

There are significant inequalities in hourly pay both between and within London boroughs. The top 25% of working residents in Kensington & Chelsea earn more than £35 per hour, while the bottom quarter earn £11 an hour or less.

The high salaries of the top 25% in Kensington & Chelsea result in a greater difference between the top and bottom quarters than anywhere else in London. Interestingly, the bottom 25% also earns more than in other London boroughs.

The top 25% earn about £15 an hour in Newham and Barking & Dagenham, lower than anywhere else in London and less than half that of the top 25% in Kensington & Chelsea.

The bottom 25% in Newham and Brent earn about £7.50 an hour, the lowest recorded in any London borough. This hourly wage is about two-thirds of that received by the bottom 25% in Kensington & Chelsea.
