'1 in 4 London children overcrowded'

New analysis of the English Housing Survey by Shelter shows that 391,000 children (24%) in London are living in overcrowded households - an 18 per cent rise since 2008.

The biggest rise is in the social rented sector, where 43 per cent of children are overcrowded. Shelter today launched a film aimed at Mayor Boris Johnson, where children talk about the impact of living in overcrowded conditions. The Mayor is falling short of his target to halve overcrowding by 2016.
