About 70% of people in Inner London living in low income households are from backgrounds other than White British. The approximate equivalent figures are: 50% in Outer London, 20% in the English North and Midlands and 10% in the rest of England.

Combined with the indiator on low income and ethnicity in London, these graphs show how the high poverty rate among people from backgrounds other than White British combines with the diverse nature of London's population to give the capital a very different pattern of poverty to the rest of the country.
